    Description

    X-Plus was working overtime in 2001 and 2002 for Ray Harryhausen collectors, with two different lines of 12" figures in resin and vinyl, and this 8" series of beloved Harryhausen creations. Offered for your consideration is one of his masterpieces of stop-motion animation both in design and execution, the six-armed idol Kali as she appeared in Charles H Schneer's psychedelic mythical fantasy adventure The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973). While the woman that stole the show for most adolescent males was Caroline Munro, Kali came in a close second, with her rhythmic dance followed by her six swords constantly moving in battle with Sinbad and his men. The synchronization of the movement of her swords with those of Sinbad's crew is seamless and Kali herself is imbued with a restive menace through the singular magic of Harryhausen's touch.
