    Description

A RARE set of SIX GRADUATED BRONZE CHINTHE (a mythical lion-like creature) OPIUM WEIGHTS RANGING IN SIZE from THE LARGEST at 2.5" and weighing 224 GRAMS to the SMALLEST at 1.00" high AND weighing 19 GRAMS--
THE FAMILY 'legend' was that grandpa was a C-46 PILOT flying 'THE HUMP' in WWII and HE brought this collection out--VERY NICE OLD PATINA on these 19th CENTURY PIECES of FUNCTIONAL ART.

    A VIEWER'S Remarks:
    Dear waestates,
The aircrews in China sometimes got to fly down to Rangoon, Burma where weights like this set could be found.
square based beasts were issued 1785-1802, but not like this privately made set. correct weights would come in at 16, 32, 79, 158
and 316 grams, of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 kyats. I would assume you have an early 20th century made set.
