    New Hampshire Vintage License Plates 1954 1956 Matching Numbers CA 995.
    These plates are great collectors items, since they are matching and represent firsts in New Hampshire plate history. 1954 was the first year that the whole state name was put on the license plate (it was previously just NH), and 1956 was the first year that New Hampshire used regulation-sized plates (6" by 12"). The 1954 plate is indeed smaller, being 6" by 10 3/8". The plates are county coded with CA, from Carroll County
