    A colorful large and heavy antique ~7 3/8 inch tall figural carnival chalk ware or chalkware figurine. The figurine is cast in the form of a woman sitting with a basket next to her and holding a cluster of very colorful balloons. The woman is wearing some sort of colorful head cover and black shoes. It looks like she is wearing a shawl and a long dress. She also has a bow tied around her neck. The piece is mostly in off-white color with the basket being yellowish orange, the shoes being black and the basket having colorful top. The Balloons are in vivid blue, yellow and red. The casting is very well done and shows great details of the face, the basket, the clothing, and the balloons. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
    Additional Information:
    These figurines which were cast from plaster and colored with such vivid and garish colors were handed out as prizes in carnivals in the 1920s and 1930s. These have been broken and lost over the years and finding them in good condition is becoming more and more difficult.
